The 2024 NBA (National Basketball Association) playoff is already underway after the thrilling finale to the regular season a few weeks ago. The playoffs promise to be an exciting journey, with multiple teams competing for dominance on the floor. The most important question of the hour is can the Boston Celtics win their 18th championship, breaking a tie with the Los Angeles Lakers for the most titles in NBA history? Or will the Denver Nuggets emulate the Golden State Warriorss feat who won back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018? The Nuggets have evolved as a formidable force in recent years, demonstrating their abilities on both sides of the floor. However, repeating as champions in the highly competitive NBA landscape is not an easy challenge. Can the Nuggets beat the odds and cement their place in history one more?

Final NBA Playoff brackets are set after the Miami Heat defeated the Chicago Bulls 112-91 to claim the last Eastern Conference playoff position. Miami will now face the No. 1 seeded Boston Celtics in the first round. Later on, the New Orleans Pelicans upset the Sacramento Kings 105-98 to secure the Western Conference's last playoff spot. The Pelicans are the West's eighth seed, setting up a match with the No. 1 seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in Round 1.

Heres a rundown on all 8 matchups set to battle it out in the postseason

Eastern Conference matchups

sports data solutionsBoston Celtics vs Miami Heat

The Miami Heat may have stunned the Boston Celtics in the playoffs last season, but this time it might not be the same story. The Celtics dominated the regular season, going 9-3 versus other top-tier title candidates in the Eastern Conference this season. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kristaps Porzingis are averaging 70.3 points, 21.0 rebounds, and 10.5 assists per game. Heat on the other hand would be facing Celtics without Jimmy Butler who is sidelined now for weeks owing to a sprained MCL. The Celtics should sweep through this round with ease. If they don't, this should be regarded as an upset.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Orlando Magic

The Cavaliers have been stumbling since Donovan Mitchell sustained a bone injury in his knee, but if he is well, they just have too much talent for the Magic to overcome. Orlando Magic did come into the playoffs riding on a good season, they have a good defensive powerhouse, and with Paolo Bancheros talent, the Cavs could find themselves in trouble on their way to the semi-finals.

Indiana Pacers vs Milwaukee Bucks

Bucks and Pacers met 5 times in the regular season with Pacers dominating 4-1 against the Bucks. But a lot has gone down since their last meeting on January 3rd. The Pacers signed Pascal Siakam, the Bucks fired their head coach, Tyrese Haliburtons performance has taken a dip after a hamstring injury, while Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss at least one game due to a calf ailment.

New York Knicks vs Philadelphia 76ers

This is the matchup of heavyweights, OG Anunoby and Joel Embiid have returned to the squad. Embiid is returning to his pre-injury form already after being out for over two months. On the other hand, Jalen Brunson, the New York Knicks point guard, averaged 37.8 points per game in his final ten games. He has lately been on fire and has the potential to lead the Knicks all the way.

Western Conference matchups

Zion Williamson's hamstring injury has hampered the New Orleans Pelicans' playoff chances. The Pelicans superstar forward will miss the series due to a left hamstring strain sustained during the team's play-in defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers. Oklahoma City Thunder was by far the greatest regular-season club in the Western Conference. The Thunder are legitimate championship challengers they have won five consecutive games heading into the playoffs and would be a very tough opponent for the Pelicans.

Dallas Mavericks vs Los Angeles Clippers

The only X factor that can change the outcome currently for this matchup is Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard who is currently not confirmed for the matchup due to a right knee inflammation. Without Leonard, the Mavericks would have the edge with their powerful duo of Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving.

Phoenix Suns vs Minnesota Timberwolves

The No. 3 seed Timberwolves have a hidden star in the form of Anthony Edwards. It could be possible that Edwards might lead the Minnesota Timberwolves through the playoffs this year, but they do face a tough-looking Phoenix Suns who enjoy a 3-0 record against the Minnesota Timberwolves this season.

Denver Nuggets vs Los Angeles Lakers

A rematch of last years Western Conference Finals would be one of the most exciting ones to watch. Denver Nuggets look just as formidable as last season, they even swept a 3-0 record against the Lakers this season. Nikola Jokic is on the right track to be the league's MVP once again while Jamal Murray is healthy and performing well. Facing the Lakers' strongest starting lineup of Anthony Davis, LeBron James, Rui Hachimura, D'Angelo Russell, and Austin Reaves the main question is can the Nuggets pull off the same results as last years?
