Data Sports Group is bringing out a monthly calendar of popular sporting events monthly to keep informed around the competitions schedule this month.

January sees a variety of sporting action through the month. Amongst the competitions to watch out for is the European Men's Handball Championship in Croatia commencing from Jan 12. The African Nations Championships kickoff in Morrocco on Jan 13 bringing the best national teams in Africa together.

Second half of the month sees the curtain-raiser to the Tennis Grand Slam calendar with the Australian Open commencing on Jan 15 with Roger Federer favourite to successfully defend the title he won last year at the Rod Laver Arena.

Asian & African Handball tournaments round up the list of popular Handball competitions later this month. Sydney will play host to the Australian Sevens Rugby tournament with the Men’s & Women’s Pools commencing on Jan 26.
